Passion can restore the healing power
and prune the weary boughs to new life.
The energy of passion is everything.
- Rumi

Embodying passions is how I choose to live my life. In 2003, I reoriented my life to bring more touch into the world by leaving a corporate career and dedicating myself to creating a fully engaged life of pursuing passions while reaching out and touching others. Along the path I have discovered that there are lots of ways to touch others, including physical, emotional and spiritual. What each has in common is wholly showing up - being present physically, giving full attention, being curious, and recognizing that there is a lot more going on in the world and within interactions than what appears at face value.
Sometimes it is called intuition. Sometimes it is called body knowledge, or a gut feeling. For me, it is about paying more attention to what I'm feeling and being present to myself - this leads to presence that becomes palpable to others.
Prior to leaving my old career in healthcare administration, I became a certified massage therapist through the Body Electric School. My massage practice is about presence in a way that goes well beyond addressing physical manifestation of stress or pain. It is about paying attention to intuitive senses. I am a skilled Swedish/Esalen and Deep Tissue practitioner.
In addition, my interest in life coaching lead to studies at the Schools of CoachVille, where I have graduated from the Thomas Leonard Coaching School and the Graduate School of Coaching. My particular interest in coaching is in helping to create increased body awareness which I approach with a core belief that the body/intuition/the gut feel is often misunderstood or ignored. I find that paying attention to the intuitive sense goes a long way toward being bold, finding you voice and passion, and being authentically you.

I live in San Francisco with my life partner. I enjoy backpacking, hiking, kayaking, travel around the world, yoga, gardening, cooking, good wine, being in the company of redwoods, and taking long walks at the beach. I am a marathon runner and ran the National AIDS Marathon in Honolulu in December 2005, December 2006 and in December 2008.
My additional educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kalamazoo College (Michigan) in Psychology, art history studies in Muenster, Germany, and a Master of Science degree in Public Health from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a Master of Science degree from the University of California, San Francisco.
